 Mazda announced that it will introduce a Mazdaspeed version of the Mazda6 for the 2006 model year. This car is reported to have a turbocharged 2.3L 4 cylinder putting out 274hp and 280tq! This will be mated to a 6 speed manual transmission and an all-wheel-drive system. Other features include a sport suspension and 18 inch alloy wheels. ZOOM ZOOM!

 Will the next MazdaSpeed available in America be based on the new rotary powered RX-8? A limited edition MazdaSpeed RX-8 is now available in Japan. Mazda has also been showing a MazdaSpeed version of the RX-8 at various world auto shows.

The newest Mazdaspeed has 178hp with 166tq, a 6 speed short throw shifter, limited slip differential and a lowered, sport-tuned suspension.  The next MazdaSpeed Protege to hit the showroom floors will be the new 2003.5 model. The first color available will be Blazing Yellow Mica, followed by Titanium Gray Metallic. Laser Blue Mica and Sunlight Silver Metallic will follow later in the model year. The basic car stays the same as the 2003 model except for a new front fascia, a new rear spoiler and a new rear skirt with an oval exhaust tip.
