Well you guessed it, the platform for the new 2013 Mazdaspeed will be the Mazda3. Mazda is continuing to ride the outstanding bang for the buck hatchback. There is still the powerful 2.3L DOHC 16-valve DISI Turbo engine that cranks out 263 horsepower and 280 lb-ft of torque, the close-ratio 6-speed manual gear selector, and the limited-slip differential and performance tires to put the power to the pavement. That said, we wish Mazda would expand the Mazdaspeed offering to other platforms, like the MX-5 Miata. We miss the model changes that took place over the past years -- going from the Protege to the MX-5 Miata to the Mazda6 (with AWD!) to the Mazda3... Variety is the spice of life!
